I’m Rushi Trivedi – a graduate of the LLB (Hons) Law programme at the University of Sussex and holder of an LLM in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London. I was born in India and grew up in the UK, where I’ve channelled my curiosity about how laws are made and applied into both my studies and my writing.
My Journey
From the start of my legal education, I was fascinated by the intersections of intellectual property, technology, and constitutional reform. During my LLB I explored how evolving legislation could facilitate new technologies like augmented reality and virtual worlds. I deepened that focus during my LLM with modules in IP in the digital economy, copyright & designs, and trademarks & patents, while also developing practical experience drafting contracts and supporting litigation.
What I’m Working On
My current projects reflect different sides of my work and interests:
UKCaseLawBriefs – a newsletter and media project breaking down recent UK cases and legislation into clear, accessible insights. My goal is to save lawyers, policymakers, students, and curious readers time by demystifying legal developments without sacrificing accuracy.
Sector‑Specific Governance (SSG) Paper – my proposal for a new voting and governance model for Britain. Published as a white paper, it outlines how sector‑based representation could lead to more expertise, accountability, and transparency in our political system. You can download the paper on this site.
Gaming & IP Blog – reflections on law, society, and personal growth, with a particular focus on intellectual property issues in gaming and emerging tech.
Across all of these, my aim is simple: to make complex legal and political ideas understandable, useful, and relevant – whether for lawyers, students, policymakers, or curious readers. I believe law isn’t just something that happens in courtrooms and parliaments – it shapes everyday life. And by making it more transparent, we can help people feel empowered to engage with it.
